Four figures, warmed by the sun We’re okay with it, okay A cold figure, reposed as a plum We’re okay with it, okay The restless nights, left us waiting I can’t recall your face clear and plain Little were the ways You’d know, you would know Now we’re coming to claim A change of pace We’re okay We’re okay We’re okay We’re okay

Thousand 03:27
I just want to hold you And then both grow still Til the highway noise dwindles And it's only your breath That I hear That summer You left all your roses behind And moved to the coast To see sea creatures Slimy and blind And what would a thousand years Do to a mind? What would a thousand years Do to a mind? If history then was condensed to its crimes And all happened at once Would we still know How to forgive There's just something off How we measure the time Put the sour looks and stabbings on scales And step right, step right Step right down And a thousand times thousand More smiles we find And a thousand times thousand More smiles we find I just want to hold you And then both grow still Til the highway noise dwindles And it's only your breath That I hear And knowing you sleep In the peace of a silent Good night I’d love you A thousand more times I’d love you A thousand more times I’d love you A thousand more times I’d love you A thousand more times

Andrew you went to such lengths to have me around One day you'll understand why this one’s not worth keeping around I don't mean to self deprecating I just mean to say that not everyone’s made for each other Sing like you love like you love like you love Sing like you love like you love like you love Sing like you love like you love like you love Ways to be great Comparing yourself to the ground Ways to be great Make flowers into a crown If god was great He’d already have taken me out Sing like you love like you love like you love Sing like you love like you love like you love Sing like you love like you love like you love

She's got, me's got We's got a breeze, hot Can't believe the knees buckle Bottlin’ the bees Running through the leaves Left the money in the breezeway I don't understand why they're hollerin’ at me He's looking right at me Through the family tree, says I can't find no way to leave Not a holler, not a scene Or they won't believe We can't put back the buzzing bees

this is snow this is midwinter when rain begins as ice sliding off the tree down the muddy mountain it's gonna make an event, in June or July underneath our feet, at the park on the waterfront side colder than any mouth can take than ice floe flowing down the slope til it’s inching home on the plains, into the river this is the way things go, this is the water of heavens this is the leftover of last year and last year, and the last year and every year, and last year sliding over me shower in a few drops, delicately in the cold still left in the deep, from the heavens and the swirls it took to get to you this is the leftover of last year and our year, and your year and every, all our years, together

about

Most of these songs came to life on my front porch in Boise, where I sit and strum to take a break from work, or to watch the dusk turn to night. It's a quiet place and songs seem to take their shape from whatever noises are in the air: crickets, birds, a few squirrels rummaging, the cars on the distant highway, the wind in the branches, or the silence of snow.
